While experience is inherently a subjective process, it does not negate those objective criteria, as found in the biological history of the human species, which fundamentally unite us. Central to our research is a desire to align abstract architectural principles with such findings in cognitive science. We find that a reliance on obtuse aesthetic philosophies will not withstand the complex changes our environment and species are undergoing. The profession is in need of a scientific basis for architectural intention, and we hope to contribute in this regard.
